PRESIDENT OF THE JURY – Prof. Dr. Antonio Giordano
Author of the white paper “ Land of Campania Poisons ”. Professor Antonio Giordano and ‘ graduated with honors in Medicine in Naples in 1986. He specialized in Pathology at the University ‘ of Trieste and soon after ‘ moved with a PhD in the United States , where it ‘ was a student of Nobel Prize winner Watson at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. In those years he was the first to discover a direct link between cell cycle regulation and cancer development . More ‘ specifically demonstrate ‘ that , so that ‘ the normal cells are transformed into neoplastic , oncogenes must interact directly with cyclins , resulting in a deregulation of the cycle and , therefore , the onset of the neoplastic phenotype .
Since 1992, he moved ‘ in Philadelphia where he was engaged , first as an Assistant Professor at Temple University , then at Thomas Jefferson University , as Professor of Pathology , Department of Pathology, Anatomy and Cell Biology, finally again at Temple University , where ‘ is currently Director of the Sbarro Institute for Cancer Research and Molecular Medicine and Director of the Center for Biotechnology in the College of Science and Technology. January 1, 2004 , Professor Jordan and ‘ Professor for renown in the scientific sector of Pathological Anatomy and Histology , Department of Medicine , Surgery and Neuroscience , University ‘ degli Studi di Siena. Since June 2006, promotes the Human Health Foundation Onlus Foundantion non-profit organization of Spoleto and is Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the CROM ( Cancer Research Center of Mercogliano -AV) . The following lists the additional collaborations with major universities and Foundations Italian : La Sapienza University and Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome , Federico II University of Naples , University of Palermo , University of Sassari, Department of Biology , University of basic and applied ‘ Aquila, Universita ‘ studies of Messina, Oncological Center , Aviano , De Beaumont Bonelli Onlus Foundation of Naples , Isal Foundation of Rimini.
